Explore Local Git Repositories with Git Crx
Git Crx is a free Chrome add-on designed for browsing local Git repositories. Currently in early beta, it provides read-only features, allowing users to clone remote repositories, view commit logs, and explore the file tree of any commit. Notably, it supports local and remote branch viewing, although it has limitations, such as the lack of support for Bitbucket repositories and a commit log restricted to 1500 entries. Users are advised to handle their repositories with care, as the app is still in development and is not fully stable.
With each update, Git Crx has introduced several enhancements, including bug fixes and improved infrastructure for future features. The recent versions have added support for file viewing with syntax highlighting and an updated icon for various backgrounds. As an homage to the Tig tool, Git Crx aims to provide a streamlined and efficient experience for developers looking to manage their Git repositories directly from their browser.
